Good bye Farm Chicks---Hope you have a wonderful show!

Sometimes, things just don't work out.
And sometimes you don't find out why.
I'm hoping I will this time around, but....

Heading on a plane Sunday to hug my husband and try not to ever let him go again (!)
He's in a foreign country, had emergency surgery.
Such a crazy, scary, overwhelming few days.
But looking for blue sky
kisses : )
hand holding
just being together
"You don't know what you've got till its gone....."
Love you Steve!

Trusting....

Today is a day for trusting in the Lord.  Circumstances can change in an instant.  What we strive so hard for in our work, hobbies, and activities can become so insignificant on certain occasions.
My life verse.......

I lift my eyes up to the hills-
where does my help come from?
My help comes from the Lord,
the Maker of heaven and earth.
He will not let your foot slip-
he who watches over you will not slumber
Psalm 121:1-3

And in this I rest my hope, and my future.
No matter what that future holds.
Which is a bit tenuous right now.
More when I can....~Kay

Map for Farm Chicks Show

We got the map for the Farm Chicks show.....yea! same place as last year.  We love being on the corner (you can spread out a bit, you know..!).  But what's even better is seeing that some of our favorite people next to us are coming back too!

Rebecca from Peace Within (Space 148).  She sells the coolest t-shirts and hats, and is such a kind, funny girl! Can't wait to see her again.
And the couple from Anoka Farms (Space 93)....the BEST peanut brittle EVER!! They are so sweet (get it?!  oh, bad one... they really are sweet though :) and so upbeat and positive.
And next to us will be Melayne (Space 146).  She is amazing, makes all of her clothes racks, salad tongs, cutting boards herself.  What a woman! (And a joy to talk to!)
So blessed with the greatest neighbors.  That's part of what makes Farm Chicks such a fun show to be a vendor at....fantastic people.
Did I mention the shoppers?  They truly are a unique group of happy people!  They are so excited to be there, and have a blast buying their treasures.  And they appreciate the cool things the vendors bring.

It's nice to be appreciated :)

Below is just a few more peeks.

Enjoy!

Yosemite...more pics

Here are some more promised pictures of Yosemite National Park.
Just looking at them again makes me relaxed......breathing in the fresh air, listening to the birds,
watching the water fall down the rocks,

seeing the clouds moving in and out of the mountains,

the way the dimming sunlight reflects off the granite and the snow,

and the shimmering images of God's creation.
May peace be with you. ~Kay

It's a takeover

So, our garage is finally......after 20 years living here.......newly painted and organized. Such a long time coming, TOO long.
(Of course, if it weren't for our wonderful daughter helping it never would have happened!)
There's a bit of a problem though.
The FARM CHICKS SHOW is only 2 WEEKS away!!!!!
And since our shop is full....
And my husband is gone for a bit....
Guess what the garage looks like now??!!
I don't dare take a zoomed out shot of it. Because my husband would see.....
and I'm not sure he would understand : )....as wonderful as he is.....
I'm a very visual person. That means I need to set most everything up ahead of time to see what it will look like.
'Cause I want it to be perfect (well, at least really good!)
There's still so much to do.
And there's never enough room in the trailer.
I can think of worse problems though~~!

We'll have some amazing, cool stuff for sale.
You gotta come!

Heaven on earth

Yosemite National Park in California really has to be like heaven. It is so incredibly beautiful. My 3 sisters and mom just got back from a long weekend there and are already planning on when we can go again. This is the 3rd time in 5 years that I've been there.

We had amazing weather. Sunny, cold, warm, SNOW!, blue sky, and yes, a bit of rain. I loved watching the clouds move around and over the mountains. I only took (well, kept) 225 pictures!

It was so peaceful. And quiet. Listening to the waterfalls. Watching the deer, saw a bear!

We all laughed so much! And the most scrumptious Mother's Day brunch at the Ahwahnee Hotel. I forgot to take pictures of the main course. Below is just a picture of some of the desserts. We practically rolled out the door....

I'll post some more pictures soon.
One of the best vacations, ever....

How did that happen?

I have the best recipe for Snickerdoodles. It came from one of those old church cookbooks where all the ladies submit their favorites.
~~~~~~~
Mix in bowl:
1 cup margarine
1-1/2 cups sugar
2 eggs
~~~~~~~
Sift together:
2-2/3 cup flour
2 tsp. cream of tartar
1 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. salt
~~~~~~~
Mix together well. Chill for 20 minutes.
Roll into 1" balls, then roll in mixture of
2 tsp. cinnamon and 2 tbsp. sugar.
Bake at 350 degrees for 9-10 minutes.
I sent a package to my Marine son, and added alot of the cookies......
Saved some for my hubby.......
Ate my share.......!
What do you mean there's only one left??!!??
Farm Chicks....such a tease!
Just a few glimpses of some fabulous items we're bringing to the Farm Chicks show.
Our vendor info arrived in the mail today.......we have the same corner spot, and hopefully, the same wonderful "neighbors" will be there again!
We honestly have been saving the "really good stuff" from last July on for this show. Great furniture that you don't see too often (think old wood, cast iron, wavy glass, leather, metal.....), linens, iron garden whatnots, enamelware!
It's getting to where I have trouble falling asleep because I keep thinking about the show, how crazy is that?!
Here's the link to Serena's website with all the info on the Farm Chicks show in Spokane, June 6th and 7th. It would definitely be worth the trip!
The sun is out....quick, time to play! ~Kay
Favorite finds
I was happy with some finds from this past weekend.....a great oval picture frame with the curved glass, a whole handful of sweet children's hangers, , a beautiful Johnson Bros. platter with the best garland of pink flowers around the edge!, the cute childs grand piano (it really plays!), a silver clothes brush, a great clock with a fold out stand in the back, the swanky swig, a very cool lamp finial, an old cardboard aspirin holder, but my favorite is the "Dot" emblem. Just reminds me of the 50's...was it from a lettermans' jacket (did girls have those in the 50's?), or my guess is from a bowling shirt. My husband really likes it when I bring home small things. It all accumulates soooo fast. It's May, but try and stay warm this week here in Oregon, it hasn't warmed into spring yet...(I'm waiting and waiting though!) ~Kay
